I’ve been busy working on something cute, almost done, can’t wait to show you 🙂 Until then, I would love to share with you a knitted project that I made (actually two) inspired by an awesome lace shrug pattern. Work flat the lace part and the garter stitch part in the round.
It is a fairly simple pattern as long as you get used to making the lace 😀 If you want to know how it’s made, there you go:
Worsted weight yarn, 8 mm circular knitting needle, 4 mm knitting needle. Size: medium.
CO 120 sts, work lace pattern 4 times (flat).
Lace pattern (flat):
(Worked over a multiple of 12 sts):
Row 1: [Yo, k2tog] to end.
Row 2: P all sts.
Row 3: K all sts.
Row 4: P all sts.
Row 5: [S1-k2tog-psso, k4, yo, k1, yo, k4] to end.
Rows 6 & 7: [P3tog, p4, yo, p1, yo, p4] to end.
Row 8: [S1-k2tog-psso, k4, yo, k1, yo, k4] to end.
Row 9: [P3tog, p4, yo, p1, yo, p4] to end.
Next row: K2tog to end of row.
Front: same as for Back.
Join body (work in the round from now on). Place both sides on 4 mm circular needles and start working garter stitch (K one round, P next round). Increase and decrease evenly as much as you need. Work for 20-25 cm garter stitch. BO.
This is for the short version (as a top) and for the dress all you have to do is repeat the lace pattern as many times as you want for the length. Add straps if you’d like.
The lace pattern it is not my creation, it is from the link above.
