Knit and crochet OCD

I might not post a lot but I keep my hands very busy, sometimes I just can’t stop 🙂 It’s text-book OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) when you’re obsessed about something and you are not able to stop doing that thing even if it hurts :)))

Now, let me show you what I’ve been up to lately:

My first Raglan style dress (sorry about the pictures, not so fancy :D)

Piece of cake after I figured out how to do the Raglan increases 😉 I’ve made crochet borders from joined motifs (at the base of the neck and bottom of the dress) I picked up stitches and knit to the end. I’ve made alterations for a better fit (increase/decrease evenly in the round), I added 2×2 Rib knitted borders at the sleeves.

Next project done was a purse that I made for someone, I did it before but I thought you might like to see how it turned out 🙂 You can find the pattern here

Then, my inspiration came from a cute pattern that you can find here. It’s shrug but I modified it and made it longer with long sleeves. I made one for my mom, too 🙂

And of course, to go with it I stitched up a hat after I saw a picture on Google and tried to do something similar, not so slouchy though.

Next was this cute top, a crochet knit combo with foundation Hdc and Hdc worked in every stitch through the back loops only, picked up stitches (120sts) and worked a cable pattern 6CB 6CF with a purl stitch on each side (P16CB 6CFP1), knit the rest of the stitches. So, for the cable pattern you need 14 stitches and the rest it up to you how many you need to cast on to fit your size. The crochet part is worked flat and the knitted part in the round.

The last finished item was a V-stitch cardigan with reverse single crochet borders:

Right now I’m working on two projects so I’ll keep you posted 🙂 Hope you enjoyed my manic knitting (crocheting) phase. LOL

  1. I love the knit-crochet combo top! I always want to make patterns like that, but I’m afraid there just aren’t enough of us who are comfortable enough with both to be worthwhile.

Me too! For me it’s easy because I love both crochet and knitting and I’m pretty sure that I’m not the only one. At first I was only a knitter but I was so curious of crochet and a started to learn. My first steps in combining them was to make simple crochet borders on knitted garments but then I wanted more 😀

Yes, that’s so true. Crochet was pretty scary for me at the beginning, I thought I could never ever learn how to do it right 🙂
